If inflation continues in the rate that many experts have increasing, if a lot of people become out with work and helpless to afford a decent quality lifestyle, and if dependency on foreign countries continues to replace American manufacturing then, yes, the united states may be within trouble.

Again, we may and may not finish up in the extreme situation with the Great Depression, but the basic quality lifestyle will be lower than what we are used to, and life is going to be much more challenging than it needs to be.

During the Excellent Depression, unemployment affected men differently in most cases than women, old people differently than young, married people differently than sole. The number of children in the family and the existence and amount of unemployment insurance and welfare also suffering those without work opportunities.

The stress with the breadwinner not being able to take adequate treatment of his family is not a different then than it can be today. It nevertheless causes anxiety and restlessness.
